About Us

Filmanthropy Foundation

We are the who you know in Hollywood!

Filmanthropy Foundation is first and foremost a 501(c)(3) nonprofit production company. Providing jobs to struggling creatives and veterans is one of the most direct, real-world ways to facilitate self-directed success.
Another key aspect to Filmanthropy is the resources we provide. Whether it’s professional services, advice, information about housing facilities, equipment, education, marketing, or something more, we’re here to support those in need any way we can.

why we are here

Our Core Mission

Filmanthropy Foundation was started by creatives and veterans who have a passion for film and the arts. We understand the struggle first-hand that creatives and veterans go through while trying to make it in creative industries. Our board of directors is a diverse, female led group of individuals who care about giving back to the film community.
One thing we’ve all come to understand is that everyone wants to be responsible for their own success. We’ve also learned that the tools to support these groups is sorely lacking in the community. We see that in the skyrocketing homelessness in LA county (up 240% in the past decade), and that between 6 and 7% of the homeless individuals in LA are veterans. Our mission is to provide the resources those individuals need to succeed.

OUR PLANS

Outreach

One aspect of our work is helping through direct action. We do this through promotional events for struggling artists, spreading the word of our efforts so more people can find support, professional services (like low cost headshots, script reviews, etc) and reaching out to the community directly to see how we can best help.

Our future goal here is to purchase and renovate a tour bus to both spread the word of what we’re doing, and provide a mobile location to bring our services to neighborhoods all over the Los Angeles area.

Support

At Filmanthropy Foundation we know how important it is to provide support for those in need.  We do this through providing information on other nonprofit efforts that struggling veterans and creatives may be able to use, equipment rentals for film work, and individualized career support and advice.

We’re currently looking to attain office space, where we can store rental equipment for easier distribution, and have a real-world location people can go to for help.

Education

Some people just breaking into the industry don’t know where to begin. Others may have been around for a while but feel stuck with their knowledge level for their speciality. Others may be looking to broaden their horizons by understanding more aspects of the filmmaking process.

A big goal for the Filmanthropy Foundation team is to establish an online education portal where people from all over the world can come to learn more about the film industry. This would double as a networking community, where people can not only share their knowledge but learn from others in the community how they overcame their individual hurdles.

Production

Filmanthropy Foundation’s main avenue for helping people in need is by creating and sharing amazing film productions.  Our leadership team members are all industry veterans in various specialties, and we are equipped for full service production.

Our plans for expanding our production efforts are both extreme and exciting! We’re eventually planning to establish a large production facility in or near the Los Angeles area.  The facility will have a western town, sound stages, offices, post production facilities, a cafeteria/catering space, equipment rental warehouse, and more!

The Greatest people.
